Who We Are

We are a public-private partnership consisting of cybersecurity and privacy thought leaders, practitioners and enthusiasts and organizations. We enable 500+ smart cities and communities with actionable and legally-defensible guidance.

SSP cross-serves all the SuperClusters and worldwide participants in NIST-led GCTC-Smart Secure Cities and Communities Challenge. It was founded in March 2018 and named Cybersecurity and Privacy Advisory Committee (CPAC) till December 2020.

NIST’s Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) program is a collaborative platform for the development of smart cities and communities. NIST, a bureau of U.S. Department of Commerce, launched the program in 2014 in partnership with other U.S. federal agencies including U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T), National Science Foundation, International Trade Administration, and National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
